Dear friends and family:

This is the last issue of 2009 , the 120th issue.  As we start another decade, Somos Primos in January 2010 will be making a few changes. You'll see two of them are already being implemented.

With the recent deaths of many outstanding Latino leaders in various fields of endeavor, instead of identifying them in their regional area of service, a separate column has been added: Honoring Hispanic Leadership

Also, a Calendar Page has been added. In addition to listing the upcoming event, your follow-up article on the event will be posted, with at least one photo, please. Since SomosPrimos is archived online, your event will become part of a historical collection available for public viewing online.

Please note, I am including this high school scholarship information (just received) because the submission must be posted < < < November 30, 2009 > > >
$10,000 Education Grant  and $1,000 Awards by the Hispanic Heritage Foundation and Colgate-Palmolive for high school juniors and seniors.  Apply on-line go to: www.colgate.com/hazlau For additional information email: hazlau@verizon.net
Submissions must include a completed application and a short essay (500 words or less) on : How can Education impact the Heritage of Hispanic generations to come?

Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas Season. . . Mimi
